STEP 01
Use the qualified device as baseline
Capture the complete approved part number and board revision. List package dimensions, pin assignments, interface generation and power rails from the design documentation.
STEP 02
Review controller and software limits
Verify supported density, organization, timing and initialization against the controller documentation and exact memory datasheet. Managed storage also needs software and boot-path review where relevant.
STEP 03
Attach the decision to the RFQ
Record the engineering-approved model or alternate list. Ask for current quantity, delivery and batch information without assuming archive data describes current stock.
Questions to resolve before requesting a quote
Does a matching family mean the parts are interchangeable?
No. Exact-device documentation and engineering qualification are required; source classifications and similar ordering codes are insufficient.
Are these records a current stock or price offer?
No. The source archive is historical. The quotation must confirm available quantity, pricing, delivery and acceptance requirements.
What should I include in the inquiry?
Use the full approved ordering code, required quantity, destination and delivery date. Include approved alternatives and acceptance requirements in the request notes.
